The last few yards of the Sycamore Cove trail passes through a grove of hemlock trees that were treated for hemlock woolly adelgids. These still-alive trees provide a tiny glimpse into what it used to be like riding through coves in the area. Upstream from here, as in most areas, the hemlocks are all dead.
