The spectacular 160-foot Rainbow Falls lies within the Nantahala National Forest, just outside the borders of the newly created Gorges State Park. Unfortunately, this national forest is not very well-endowed with singletrack trails open to bikes, and this waterfall is one example of the things mountain bikers miss out on in this National Forest and parts of others.
