The rides below are recommended by the Nantahala National Forest--Highlands ranger district for mountain bikers. They are all on gravel roads, however--there doesn't seem to be any singletrack included in any of them. I hope to have information about each route, and maybe some on singletrack trails in this National Forest, posted soon!

Panthertown Valley More Difficult 5.5 This unique valley contains spectacular scenery and a great example of a very unique habitat - mountain wetland bogs. Stay on open gravel roads with your bike; park if you plan on hitting the trails. The beautiful Schoolhouse Falls is a popular destination in this area. Recommended access is from the western entrance.
