Contains detailed information about the places and the trails to ride in WNC. Places such as Bent Creek, Dupont State Forest, and Tsali are the starting point for your mountain bike adventures. For each of the Trailheads, there is detailed trail information, information on camping and lodging, suggested rides, maps, photos, directions to the trailhead, and more where applicable.
14 major places to ride and over 171 singletrack trails at these trailheads - together measuring well over 300 miles in length - are described in the Western North Carolina area! Stats are shown for every individual trail, including trail name, length, difficulty, location, and map numbers. Most trails also have detailed descriptions, and many have links to topographic maps of the trail. Use all this information to come up with your dream ride!
General information on mountain biking and the WNC area, including listings on area bike shops in North Carolina, and information on the mountains themselves, national forest and trails geography, places to camp, lodging, and the weather/climate. Also, view the WNC Area Map - locate the most popular riding areas on the map, and link directly to the Trail Information tables for each area.
Browse through 70 pictures of the views and trails from around the area. Images are organized by the ride or trail from which they were taken.
