Welcome to the official website for the Southeastern Mountain Bike Patrol, a member of the International Mountain Bicycling Association's National Mountain Bike Patrol.

Headquartered in Asheville, NC, the patrol strives to help make the trails of the Pisgah and Nantahala National Forests better places for mountain biking.

The National Mountain Bike Patrol's mission is to "assist, educate, and inform mountain bikers and other trail users" and these are also the goals of our patrol. You can often find our patrollers out on the trails in the area providing mechanical or first aid assistance, giving riding tips, educating riders on low-impact riding techniques, or just helping folks choose a good trail to ride. Look for the bright yellow jerseys and the NMBP logo!

We need your help! The best thing you can do is join us if you are in the local area, or think about starting or joining a patrol in your area if you live outside of WNC.

Please take a look around this site by following the links in the bar on the left side of this page for more information.

When We Meet

The Southeastern Mountain Bike Patrol meets along with the Blue Ridge Bicycle Club on Wednesday nights at Ryan's Steakhouse, located on NC 191 beside the Biltmore Square Mall. Be there at 6:00 PM if you wish to eat and at 7:00 PM if you just wish to attend the meeting. We plan on having several guest speakers throughout the season talk about all issues regarding mountain bike patrolling. Also, the patrol will meet for a ride on the third Sunday of each month at 1:00 PM. Anyone is welcome, patrol member or not, all skill levels. Meet at the Hardtimes Trailhead at Bent Creek.
